***PRESENTATION COPY OF POET'S LAST BOOK INSCRIBED, SIGNED & DATED BY "ROBERT FROST" ONLY SEVEN MONTHS BEFORE HIS DEATH*** IN THE CLEARING BY ROBERT FROST New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1962.  First Edition, First Printing with "FIRST EDITION" stated on the Copyright Page [See Crane A41.1].   Hardcover with gray linen cloth covers lettered in silver along the spine.  6 1/4" by 9 1/4".  101 pages.  Illustrated with a black & white photographic portrait of Robert Frost by David H. Rhinelander on the front of the dust jacket. Robert Frost's eleventh and last book of poetry published on the Poet's 88th Birthday on March 26, 1962, less than one year before his death, this Collection contains 39 of Frost's later poems, including "Away!," "Closed for Good," "One More Brevity," "Accidentally On Purpose," "Kitty Hawk," "Does No One at All Ever Feel This Way in the Least?," "Our Doom to Bloom," "A-Wishing Well," "Some Science Fiction," "On Being Chosen Poet of Vermont," the title poem "A Cabin in the Clearing" and the Poem that Robert Frost recited at the 1961 Inauguration of President John F. Kennedy, "For John F. Kennedy His Inauguration."  Robert Frost was awarded the Bollingen Prize in Poetry for this Collection only days before he died on January 29, 1963. THIS IS AN AUTOGRAPHED PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED, SIGNED & DATED BY THE POET AT THE TOP OF THE BLANK FRONT FREE ENDPAPER WITH HIS TYPICAL FOUNTAIN-PEN-AND-BLUE-INK SIGNATURE, AND IN HIS UNIQUE AND INIMITABLE HANDWRITING: "TO AGNES TODD MILLER FROM ROBERT FROST WITH THE BEST CAMBRIDGE  MASS JUNE 14  62" Robert Frost lived at 33 Brewster Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts from 1941 until his death on January 29, 1963, only about seven months after this book was signed by him.  Robert Frost was one of the greatest American Poets of the Twentieth Century and was awarded a record-breaking total of Four Pulitzer Prizes in Poetry for his poems.
