Description
97 out of 125 in Easton Press' 100 Greatest Books Ever ~Great for Collectors, Look Fantastic in Bookshelves~ Up for auction are 97 of Easton Press' collection of 125 titles in their "100 Greatest Books Ever Written" Series. To collect these books from the publisher, it would take you over 8 years and close to $4,500. This is because only a number of titles are available at any given time and they ship out on a monthly basis. These can be yours much, much sooner! Each volume is leather bound and magnificently illustrated, featuring a hubbed spine which is accentuated with 22 kt gold. They also feature lustrous moire fabric endsheets, acid-neutral paper, gilded page ends, and a bound in satin ribbon page marker. They are classically beautiful volumes and would look fabulous in any library. Of the books that I checked, the copyright dates range from 1976 - 1981. These books are in excellent condition. Most look like they have never been read or opened. They were collected throughout the 1980s though and have been sitting in a bookshelf for the past 20 years, and they have accumulated some dust and such, but are in otherwise great shape. The tallest book measures 12 inches. The widest book is about 3 inches. And the deepest volume is about 9-1/2 inches. There are 15 books that have attached stickers, but only about 5 have the name written on them. There were a few that also had a stamp that says the name of the previous owner. The rest of the books either have unattached stickers or I was unable to find the loose sticker at all. The titles that are included and the order in which Easton Press released them are:1. The Eneid - Virgil2. Aesop's Fables3. The Alhambra - Washington Irving4.
