Description
Christopher Morley(ilustrated by Arthur Rackham) - Where the Blue Begins published by William Heinemann/Doubleday in 1922. This is the the most desirable edition of the book as it is signed by both Author and Illustrator and is limited to 100 copies, of which this is number 58. I cannot be entirely sure, but the book may have been rebound, or at least had the spine replaced at some point. It is entirely correct in format with blue cloth boards, black cloth spine and the gilt dividing line. The page block has gold top edge, and is roughly cut to side and bottom. A couple of pages have been roughly opened and torn(see pictures) and there is staining to a few pages. Overall the contents are complete and very attractive, there is no foxing and no inscriptions/ownership marks. Certainly one of the rarest Rackham deluxe editions, if it was definitely completely original it would be worth £1500+, as is, is is a very attractive book which would make a fantastic present and the asking price reflects the condition.
