Hardcover: Sumptuous tan linen cloth binding with rice paper endpapers. Frontispiece has a pasted-in colour woodblock - see photo. With 553 plates of which 9 are tipped in, hand-coloured and guarded with protective tissue. There is some minor fading to the rear of the cover as shown in the photographs, otherwise the book is in very good condition indeed. Very tight and clean. Bruno Taut was a leading modernist architect - a contemporary of the Bauhaus designers Walter Gropius and Mies Van Der Rohe. This book is a record of three years he spent in Japan after leaving Germany in 1933. Don't miss this opportunity to acquire this rare, important and, above all, beautiful book.© Text and photographs by room_606. UK buyers only may also pay by cheque or postal order. If it's a cheque, please allow 7 to 10 days for it to clear. In some circumstances it may be possible for overseas customers to pay by another means by arrangement. All buyers please make contact within 3 days of auction. Payment is required within 7 days. Non-paymentAll non-paying bidders are, without exception, reported to eBay. This is not for the sake of being vindictive, but because eBay charges retrospective fees calculated on the actual sale price of items and this money needs to be retrieved. Believe me it is hard enough to make ends meet on here as it is! Thank you for your understanding. Please refer to eBay's policy on non-payment for more information, including its ramifications for the bidder. If you have any doubts, please do ask before bidding.Condition of itemsPlease note that, unless clearly stated otherwise, my listings are for vintage/antique objects and therefore, by definition, are not going to be in the same condition you would expect from a brand new item. Please be assured that I always endeavour to offer the most accurate description possible of the item's condition and take multiple illustrative photographs. Vintage electrical itemsUnless clearly stated otherwise in the description, vintage electrical items are sold in their original condition so should always be safety checked by a qualified electrician before use. ReturnsReturns are possible, if reported within 7 days and by prior arrangement, if a mistake has been made in the listing and the item is not as described, but for no other reason. Unfortunately simple buyer's remorse cannot qualify and the cost of return postage is not included in any refund. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me to ask any questions not covered above; I always answer as promptly as possible. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this and best of luck bidding!
