He includes photographs, drawings, scribblings, collages, details about his friends and associates, and writings on some of his passions. The latter involves the Artist's lifelong love of Africa, where he lived intermittently for decades beginning in 1965. He first truly broke through the public consciousness shortly thereafter with a cover story in "Life" magazine on the plight of African elephants – a subject that would be his passion for the next several decades. Diary is crammed with information that, from a lesser artist might be a bore. This, instead, is a rare and exciting insight into a gifted mind.This book is in NEW condition with intact OBI and is still under publisher's wraps. It is VERY SCARCE. It has photo-illustrated end papers with numerous full-page color illustrations throughout. It measures 12 x 9 inches.
