This set was originally published in 1952 but I think this is later reprint. This set is in overall very good condition but there are a couple of peculiarities. In each book page 55 has a diagonal red pencil line going from the bottom left to the top right corner. The line is neatly drawn with a ruler and is fairly light. I have no idea why it's there. Also, on the inside back cover, at the lower right corner, there is an "x" inside a circle written in black felt-tip. It's about the size of a dime or smaller. Other than that bit of weirdness the books appear to be in excellent condition (minor exceptions noted below) without any other marks, writing, or bookplates. The exteriors are in good shape with just a bit of scuffing.
