Contains 15 copper plates:-  6 folding plates and 9 full page, 8 pages of tables. Bound in later tree calf leather with gilt decoration on the spine, rebacked, worn around the spine ends and board edges. The binding is good and secure. Marbled end papers.  All pages accounted for, no loss. Relatively bright and tidy internally, minor marking, slight toning to the first couple of pages, light marginal staining to the edges of a couple pages, neat repair to the back of 1 plate, early owners signature of Tho. Knox on the top margin of the title page, bookplate of the Earl of Mansfield on the end paper. The margins are large and wide in this copy. Each page is line bordered. Fine decorative woodcut initials throughout the book. No engraved title page in this copy.  Contents include:- levying of men, soldiers and soldiers pay, necessitie of excercise, managing the horse, distributing booty, supply of good horses, marching by day and by night, encampment, scouts and spies, garrisons, forraging, giving the charge, how to meet the enemy marching, ceremonies before the fight, the battle and much more.
