Mother Goose's Nursery Tales 1923 First Edition Edited by L. Edna Walter Illustrated by Charles Folkard and J.H. Hartley This book is undated but 1923 has been written in pencil in the front endpaper along with a price and I have seen the identical book elsewhere on eBay for a "Buy it Now" price of £275 also specifying 1923 as being the year and first edition. The book has blue pictorial boards which are completely intact with no sunning and only a very little light fading. The boards do have some a few dark marks on them, the worst of which is shown in the last photo below, but overall they are in very sound condition. Internally, the binding is tight and the vast majority of the 219 pages are nice and clean. A very few pages do have an occasional grubby mark and one page has a reddish mark between the verses of a poem. The very beautiful illustrations are in perfect condition There is no foxing or age discolouration although with the book closed and looking at the page edges it is clear the book is not new. In my view this would be an excellent addition to many collections. I have started the auction at a very low price in comparison to others I have found on the internet.
