MDLXXXVIII.  Good (minus)/ None dust jacket condition as issued.  THE BOOK APPEARS TO BE AN ALPHABETIZED DICTIONARY WITH ENGRAVINGS ON A FEW PAGES.  "Foesius spent 40 years in the preparation of this concordance to Hippocrates. This work was unsurpassed until Littre's great work appeared 250 years later." Garrison-Morton 6793. Foesius (1528-95), studied medicine at Paris and returned to his native city of Metz to become a city physician. In addition to his medical duties and daily practice, he was a classical scholar who concentrated on the study of Hippocrates and his works.
