Harrap, London, 1935. Publisher's full vellum binding with the gilt skeleton on the cover, richly decorated very dark and dense, almost black free endpapers. Profusely illustrated and decorated with many black and white drawings - I have included more pictures of the black and white drawings than of the superb full colour plates, as Arthur Rackham's drawings are less known than his watercolours - for your interest. There are also  twelve full colour tipped-in plates under captioned tissues. Top Edge Gilt, others uncut.  Book condition: the vellum, GOOD/VERY GOOD, some age discolouration and darkening or light staining to boards, slight rubbing and some light bumping to foot of spine, the gilt work on the cover and titles remains bright. Gilt edges bright. Internally this is a FINE copy excepting a stain on text page 236-237, which is mostly in  margin - this page is shown in photographs, below. Other than this, absolutely nothing of note. No marks whatsoever. Bright and clean. No bookplates or inscriptions. Binding tight and square.Very rare due to the small run of 450 copies only. A wonderful combination of Poe and Rackham, very original moody, dark drawings and watercolours and very special as a limited edition.     Good luck bidding!
