The item you are bidding on is: Catalog/Pamphlet, " IRVING MARANTZ, Recent Paintings ", Babcock Galleries, New York, 1958, first edition, thin 8 pages (including wraps), 8vo size, reproductions of 2 oil painting works, listing of 22 works in exhibit, essay by Alfred Werner -that's it.  Pamphlet in very good condition with museum stamp interior and artist's name printed on front wrap for filing purposes.   To our knowledge the only material published by the gallery in connection with the exhibit.    Rare research ephemera for the art scholar/dealer/collector. Biography from AskART: Marantz studied at the Art Student League. He exhibited among others at the Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Modern Arts, NY, Metropolitan Museum, NY, Whitney Museum (award winner), Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Denver Art Museum. He was the director of the Princetown Art Association and Museum. Later he taught at the Brooklyn Museum Art School where he has an exterior sculpture. He also has two large bronzes on Park Avenue in Manhattan and another bronze sculpture in front of the Jewish Community Center in Bayonne, N.J. Triad, a reworking of Picasso's Three Musicians is one of the two Marantz sculptures on Park Avenue in Manhattan.
