This volume highlights in both words and pictures the history and characteristics of "THE ART OF BEV DOOLITTLE".  Doolittle's goal is to slow down the viewing process with a focus on Nature, Native American, and Early Western Outdoorsman. BEV DOOLITTLE'S DEFFINITIVE ART COLLECTION   THIS BEAUTIFUL BOOK IS A DEFINITIVE COLLECTION OF BEV DOOLITTLE'S PUBLISHED PRINTS; AS WELL AS EARLIER PAINTINGS, MANY SEEN HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND SPLENDIDLY REPRODUCED IN FULL-COLOR! ~~~~~~~ ALSO, INCLUDED ARE SKETCHES, COLOR STUDIES AND PHOTOGRAPHS THAT HELP TO ENRICH OUR UNDERSTANDING OF BOTH THE TALENT AND THE TECHNIQUES USED TO MAKE SUCH AMAZING ART WORK!   THIS VOLUME OF ART IS INCREDIBLE -- THERE IS NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT.  IT CONTAINS A REPRODUCTION OF ALMOST EVERY PAINTING PRODUCED BY THE ARTIST.  IF YOU WERE TO ATTEMPT TO BUY SMALL PRINTS OF ALL THESE PAINTINGS IT WOULD COST YOU A FORTUNE AND MANY WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND! THIS SPECIAL VOLUME IS PACKED FULL WITH MANY NEVER BEFORE PUBLISHED PAINTINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS -- AND INCLUDES OVER 250 PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND PHOTOGRAPHS IN ALL -- INCLUDING SEVERAL 3-PAGE POSTER PULL-OUTS!  Visually satisfying and mentally stimulating these crisp, beautiful detailed paintings appeal to lovers of any genere of art, especially the Western art genre.  This is one of the most important art reference guides/books dealing with the Western art genere to have yet been printed.  It is also the most definitive compiliation of the life's work of Bev Doolittle.  This volume is absolutely amazing!!  It is intriguing on so many levels -- Doolittle's paintings are crowded with detail and haunted by presences both, seen and unseen.  Her work is witty, poetic, and imaginative, reflecting a harmony between man and nature that calls to traditional values and reunites us with the awe and wonder of our heritage.  Not only do you find many of Bev's famous paintings that art fans have seen for years, and have hanging in their living room, but this book is also filled with many earlier paintings, some never published, along with some not so well known sketches, color studies and photographs by Bev Doolittle. "Bev Doolittle's art meets not only the eye, but also challenges our ability to perceive beyond the surface of a colored image".  A DIFFERENT WAY OF SEEING ----  "Bev Doolittle's extraordinary creative talent and her very personal vision draw us into the world of her paintings and make us look beyond what we see at first glance.  Snowy forests reveal camouflaged Indians;  rocks and streams transform themselves into ageless faces or the proud profile of an eagle;  horses move in and out of view as the blend perfectly with their surroundings..." "When looking upon Bev Doolittle's works, you are drawn into another world, another place, another time, when everything was a story and every story an adventure"   PINTOS ~ 1979 "In the fall of 1979, 1000 prints of "PINTOS", a watercolor painting by a relatively unkown artist named Bev Doolittle, were issued by The Greenwich Workshop, at a price of $65 each.  By 1989, these prints were selling for as much as $10,000 each.  But it has become hard to find an owner willing to sell.  What came to be known as "THE DOOLITTLE PHENOMENON" had begun.  Doolittle's rare original works now command upwards of $150,000, and much more for art work that is actually signed by this creative genius.  Each set of limited edition prints sells out immediately upon release".   The following are the categories and topics in this volume: Pintos In Person A Tale of Two Talents Making Ends Meet Traveling Artist The Road Taken Decisions Camouflage Spirit Painting Keeping the Magic Alive The following is a history of some of the main paintings of Bev Doollitle: WinterWolf - 1973 Smoothride - 1973 Out in the Open - 1973 Alpine Drifters - 1973 Hopkins Crossing - 1974 Winter Camp - 1975 Dawn Reflections - 1975 Snowshoe Tracks - 1975 Talons and Horns - 1976 Surprise Encounter - 1976 Chili Night - 1977 Autumn Solitude - 1977 Escape by a Hare - 1978 The Grizzly Tree - 1978 Pintos - 1979 Broken Silence - 1975 Buffalo Brother - 1976 Autumn Glow - 1977 Bugged Bear - 1980 Whoo!? - 1980 The Good Omen - 1980 Spirit of the Grizzly - 1981 Unkown Presence - 1981 Woodland Encounter - 1981 Christmas Day, Give Or Take a Week - 1983 Runs With Thunder - 1983 Rushing War Eagle - 1983 Eagles Flight - 1983 The Forest Has Eyes - 1984 Let My Spirit Soar - 1984 Two Indian Horses - 1985 Wolves on the Crow - 1985 Two Bears of the Blackfeet - 1986 Missed! - 1986 Calling the Buffalo - 1987 Guardian Spirits - 1987 Doubled Back - 1988 Season of the Eagle - 1988 Sacred Ground - 1989 Hide and Seek - 1999 ****************  THE MOST EXTENSIVE, COMPLETE and cOMPREHENSIVE  REFERENCE GUIDE EVER PUBLISHED ON THE ART WORK AND LIFE OF BEV DOLITTLE!  A PRICELESS ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION!      Because many biographies are written after the death of the artist we are often left to guess at much of what we want to know.  The what, when, where, how and, most of all, the why of paintings that enthrall us.  How did such talent devlop?  And who is the human being behind the paintbrush?  Though Bev Doolittle is very much alive -- this book sums up both her life and art which is an inextricable of her own joyous wonder at the world in which we all live.  It is best summed up by one of Bev Doolittle's own statements: "My Paintings Are Rooted In My Experience". When this book first sold it retailed for over $65.00 -- now over 17 years later it is almost impossible to find one at any cost! WHAT A TALENT! This book is in EXCELLENT "NEAR MINT" CONDITION and has been extremely well taken care of -- binding is tight and all pages are crisp, clean and secured.  Book is free of any rips, tears, marks, writings, etc. This book is an EXTREMELY RARE Collectible and has been for sometime now.  This paricular copy is even more RARE & COLLECITBLE then the majority all copies of "THE ART OF BEV DOOLITTLE" that might be available.    There are two main reasons that this copy is so RARE & UNIQUE! The 1st main reason is because of the incredible condition that this book is in.  This book is in in EXCELLENT "NEAR MINT" CONDITION!  Unfortunately, most 1st Editions of "THE ART OF BEV DOOLITTLE" are NOT in "NEAR MINT" CONDITION, but instead they are either simply in just Good Condition or OK.  In fact, my experience in trying to locate 1st editions that are in EXCELLENT / "NEAR MINT" CONDITION has just been absolutely horrible.  It seems that most of these books have been sitting around someone's house for the past 17 years as their Coffee Table Book or as the kid's favorite toy to play with when the're bored in the living room.  It is for this reason that it is SO DIFFICULT TO FIND A COPY that is really in EXCELLENT CONDITION, like this one.  As I have worked with book dealers trying to obtain additional copies, I cannot begin to tell you how many I find that at first I am told they are in Excellent / Like-New Condition and then as I begin looking at the book and inspecting it, I find the book is not even close to being in Like-New Condition.  It doesn't take long from that point before the dealer quickly comes over to me and begins to explain that what he was meaning about the book was that the inside of the book is in Like-New Condition ~ he then tries to down play that the outside cover has rubbing and edgewear, with small tears all along the Dust Jacket.  In fact, I even found a copy that was listed as Like-New / Fine Condition and according to the owner it only had just has a little 1" tear on the back, that he said really wasn't that noticable and besides it could be taped up and fixed pretty easy.   This is the 1st reason for this particular book's Value and Collectibility. 2) The second reason for the book's incredible Value and Collectibilty is that is SIGNED on the inside by the actual Author and Artist, BEV DOOLITTLE!  This is EXTREMELY RARE and increases the book's collectibiltiy and value ten fold.  On many of Bev Doolittle's art work and prints the real difference from her work being valued several thousands of dollars more was directly attributed to rather her signature was on the art work. This RARE 1st EDITION book, that is in "MINT CONDITION", is a must have for any serious BEV DOOLITTLE Collector.  Extremely Rare Collectible This is a must have book ~ Bev Doolittle Art Reference Guide for any Bev Doolittle Fan or Art Enthusiast.  Especially for those who love the outdoors and western sceneries.  This book is the perfect addition to anyone's Library / Collection and would make a WONDERFUL GIFT for any friend or loved one!  Buyer to pay $6.95 shipping inside the United States. THANKS and GOOD LUCK!     P.S.  Due to my tight work schedule all items are shipped approximately one week from date of payment.  If you need the item shipped sooner, please contact me directly through EBAY's MESSAGE system.  THANKS!   Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool.
