Unlike Dahl's more famous later work, the stories in this early collection are not for children, in fact often containing particularly adult themes, nor do they have surprise endings. They are more reflective, slow-moving and at times more experimental than his later works. This copy is in FINE condition. In original blue boards are very clean and bright with gilt titling to the spine.  The unclipped (7s. 6d. net.) dustwrapper is in NEAR FINE condition.  There is some foxing which is more noticeable on the back panel, there is a small closed tear to the base of the spine.
