Published on March 26, 1954 as a "birthday" book in honor of Robert Frost's eightieith birthday, this Special Collection contains sixty-six of Robert Frost's favorite poems selected by the Poet himself, including "The Silken Tent," "My November Guest," "The Tuft of Flowers," "Reluctance," "The Death of the Hired Man," "Birches," "Home Burial," "Hyla Brook," "The Oven Bird," "Directive," "Design," "Departmental," "Come In," "A Young Birch," "The Courage to Be New," and "Dust of Snow" as well as "The Gift Outright" which Robert Frost recited at the Inauguration of President John F. Kennedy, and two of his most famous and popular poems, "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" and "The Road Not Taken." In addition, this Special Limited Edition contains the First Appearance or the First Printing of a New Prose Piece by Robert Frost, "The Prerequisites," written as a Preface for the book.    As stated on the Limitation Page: THE PUBLICATION OF THIS VOLUME COINCIDES WITH THE CELEBRATION OF THE AUTHOR'S EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY. "ROBERT FROST" THIS EDITION HAS BEEN LIMITED TO SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY NUMBERED COPIES, OF WHICH FIVE HUNDRED ARE FOR SALE. THIS COPY IS NUMBER  "127" As indicated above in blue, Robert Frost Signed this Copy on the Limitation Page with his typical fountain-pen-and-blue-ink signature, and in his unique and inimitable handwriting.  Robert Frost (1874-1963) was one of the greatest American Poets of the Twentieth Century who was awarded a record-breaking total of Four Pulitzer Prizes in Poetry for his poems.  The covers and spine are sunned and darkened, and the white coated paper with the photograph of Frost appears damp-stained with spotted foxing (although the surrounding pages around it are fine;  apparently, the damp-staining and foxing occurred before the page was inserted into the book), otherwise, internally it is a Fine Autograhed Limited Edition Copy in nice, tight, clean condition without any previous owners' bookplates or ink inscriptions or markings of any kind, in a sunned and darkened slipcase with the original printed paper label on the spine.  Additional pictures are available upon request.  Buyer pays $6.00 Media Mail  OR  $10.00 Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the U.S.  Insurance required and additional at cost.  Foreign buyers should contact me before buying.
