Description
Sax Rohmer´s book, "MOON OF MADNESS", was first published in September 1927, by Cassells of London. On offer, is a second impression of the popular edition, (third printing overall), from June 1929, with scarce, ORIGINAL dustjacket. THE BOOK IS IN NEAR FINE CONDITION, AND THE DUSTJACKET IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. The pages are very clean throughout, and retain the stiffness, associated with a brand new book, (the book is eighty years old remember). There are no marks, rips, tears or writing. Nor are there any signatures or inscriptions. The fawn cloth boards with black trim, are very bright and clean, and the black titles to the spine, are still bold and clear, (see scan). The jacket is not price-clipped, (the price, 2/6 net, is on the spine). The jacket has a one inch closed tear, to the heel of the spine, and another, to the lower inch of the fold of the front flap. There are a couple of tiny, (1/8"-1/4"), closed tears to the upper edge of the rear panel. The upper corners are rubbed, and have small loss, now replaced with small colourcopy inserts, (not so noticeable, see scan). The underside of the jacket shows three small areas of staining where I have removed ancient tape, from closed tears, which had oxided, (not visible from the front). The jacket is bright and clean, and the spine is slightly faded, (see scan). THIS IS A VERY GOOD COPY. All my books with jackets are BRODART PROTECTED, (clear-view, plastic protector).
