The Beloved Returns is set in Weimar, Germany in 1816, and "unrolls the picture of the psychology of a genius, (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe) and of the personal sacrifices made by all those who surround him" . . .  The book recreates a fictional reunion between Goethe and the object of his youthful passion, Charlotte Kestner. DESCRIPTION: Book is in near fine condition, clean inside and out with Thomas Mann's inscription and signature on front flypage. Dust jacket is unclipped with a price of $2.50.
