They were only ever available in HARDBACK for a very short while. Today the hardback  editions are next to impossible to find, although more often you can pick up a paperback edition here and there. However, it is not the same as owning a beautiful slipcased hardback set! If you have read the "trilogy" then you know that each of the three books, is really two books in one. This is your chance get it the way Professor Tolkien actually wrote it. There is even a nice fascimille copy of J.R.R.
