Despite the lighting in the photo, all of our tree bark blank books are all pretty much the same shade of brown. The brown cover is made of handmade paper that resembles leather or tree bark (hence that is what we call it).  It is a wonderful alternative to the typical white wedding book seen at most weddings. Ideal for Renaissance weddings, ren faire guest books, blank journals, travel diaries and more.  We sold many of these for $30 and more and are pleased to be able to offer you this new thinner version at a lower price than ever. Regardless of outer dimensions, each blank book contains about 100 creamy ivory pages of handmade paper. (50 sheets = 100 pages, front and back) The book in this listing is just under 7 x 7 inches and less than 1/2" thick.  The other size is available in another listing...What is the difference between the two? Just the size. They are the same in color, texture, paper, number of pages, price, cost of shipping, etc.. A note about pens:We are often asked what kind of pen works best with this sort of journal or wedding guest book. We have had good results with the Pilot G-2 pen. The ink flows smoothly without sinking in and no one has trouble using it on the first try. Plus it looks better than many pens on the market.  Avoid ball points as those will leave deep impressions and make the paper crinkle in a three-dimensional way you probably won't like.  (Fountain pens are still wonderful but the ink often sinks into the paper and not every wedding guest is used to using one; hence, you end up with skips and blotches. But if your heart is set on using one, you can put some practice paper nearby.)  And just in case you are wondering, we are not in any way affiliated with the company that makes the Pilot G-2 pen, nor do we receive compensation for recommending their product.
