This is an excellent mint condition, original 1ST EDITION / 1ST PRINTING autographed copy of the "the Book of the Summer". (It IS NOT the new Oprah edition). It is a bestseller at all Independent and chain bookstores, as well as returning to the #1 spot on the NY TIMES bestseller list. In addition to all that, Stephen King claims it as one of his all time best recent reads. There was a recent 1/2 page USA Today front page article about this book and King's connection to it (see immediate below). As a 1st edition autographed book - this is a highly collectible title - which is extremely difficult  - IF NOT NOW IMPOSSIBLE to obtain (original 1st printing was a paltry 28,000 copies!). A signed, 1st edition / 1st print run of this book will ony increase substantially in value! Please note - this is the THE ORIGINAL published edition (1st / 1st) - NOT the new Oprah edition, which I understand the publisher gave a 'new' edition status to - allowing them to publish it as a 1st edition and 1st print - which it really isn't at all. (I think the Oprah edition has a new, different ISBN) Oprah, Barnes & Noble, reviewers, and readers all agree — The Story of Edgar Sawtelle is one of the best books of the year! Barnes & Noble recently picked the book as a Fall 2008 Discover Great New Writers title, and today it was named the newest Oprah's Book Club Selection. The book was published by ECCO, An Imprint of HarperCollinsPublishers, New York. This is a stated First Edition. The full number line reads: 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. The ISBN is: 978-0-06-137422-7. The book and dust jacket are in near fine / excellent condition, the spine is tight. The dust jacket is not price clipped ($25.95) and the book is not a Book Club Edition, nor remaindered.
