Book is INSCRIBED on a laid in page by the author's sister: "In memory of Thomas Wolfe, my brother and the best of wishes to Mildred Battman." And SIGNED "Mabel Wolfe Wheaton, Dec 25, 1956. Asheville, N.C."The ORIGINAL PHOTO OF THOMAS WOLFE is circa 1934 as he stands at the entrance to his family home in Asheville at 48 Spruce Street. Known as "Dixieland" in the novel, "Look Homeward, Angel" it was operated as a boarding house, "Old Kentucky Home" by the author's mother. The photo is inscribed on the reverse side: "Thomas Wolfe from Mabel Wolfe Wheaton (sister)." Wolfe was to die a few years later in 1938."Published October, 1929. Reprinted November, December 1929.
