Raised bands and gilt lettering to spine. T.e.g. Binding with wear, particularly to exremities. Internal: Complete and tightly bound set of plates. Title has three closed tears that have been repaired. Contemporary (1873) inscription to head of title. Some foxing in places, occasionally heavy on a few plates. Plates xliv and xlv have closed tears that have been repaired and both plates have been cut out and laid down on replacement sheets. There is a 5 x 1.5 inch section at the head of plate xlv lacking, this does not appear to have caused any loss to the illustration itself. The final plate has some slight creasing to the inside edge. Some plates have pencil annotations. The separate octavo text volme is not present.
