Description
Here we go again... A friend is selling a large lot of collectible items - you are going to like these! In the collection are about 20 autographed farm type hats, about 100 signed scripts from TV and from movies, a large number of framed autograph pieces (very unique ones), and various collectible pottery pieces, a collection of Longaberger baskets, and even misc. household and collectible items. Items are being sold due to a remodel where many no longer fit in, some are being pulled out of long term storage, and some are duplicates. These items are quality vintage and contemporary collectible items, well kept and clean (many in storage for years and many brand new, but old), and represent names you will recognize! All are selling on a no-reserve sale, each item selling on a one-time-only sale with a single listing, and with prices you can't beat! - a neat opportunity if you are in the market! This auction is for one of the special framed items in the collection - this is not an autographed item, but some very special vintage Mechanix magazines! Piece is a large framed display, size is 16 by 38.5 inches, frame is metal and chrome or silver, and is quite thick given the completeness of the magazines behind the glass (not just covers, but the whole mag is intact). Included are four Modern Mechanix magaines: June of 1933 (? not sure on date of this one, hard to see as framed, on spine), July 1933, August 1934, and August 1936. Covers are very special here and two are signed by artists - one by Saunders and the other by Steward Rouse (well know on these mags) and the other two are unknown or signed artists - all feature futuristic vehicles, vintage advertising, how to articles of the period on mechanical things, and even previews of new mechanical items! All are in great shape with some better than others - one has some spine damage and thinness, but all are very presentable - collectible in their own right if you have ever seen these for sale. Selling the framed unit as one - glass on this one has a small crack in the corern, back has tape to be able to access the mags and to reposition them (they, the mags are on plastic holders and are adjustable), and colors on this piece are very bold and bright - quite the display for the automotive enthusiast or collector of vintage mags or items. Can't guarantee the glass on this item given insurance restrictions.
