Description
WEIRDBOOK Issues 1-23/24 All As New!!! (W.P. Ganley 1967-1988) AS NEW Along with Whispers, Fantasy Tales and Nyctalops Weirdbook served as a standard-bearer for the horror genre during the 1970s and 1980s. Without any newstand presence (other than Twilight Zone) it would have been grim times for the genre. Of the big four, Weirdbook enjoyed the longest run and greatest number if issues. With teh sterling reputaion of editor W. Paul Ganley, Weirdbook was able to source great material by some of the best-known names in the field. There's a wonderful mix of the old-timers that wrote for Weird Tales and Arkham House and newer authors who have since gone on to be some of the brightest stars in the genre. Here are just a few of the contributors: Joseph Payne Brennan, Jessica Amanda Salmonson, Brian Lumley, H. Warner Munn, Robert E. Howard, Basil Wells, Stephen King, Eddy C. Bertin, L. Sorague de Camp, Frank Belknap Long, J.N. Williamson, Richard Tierney, Steve Rasnic Tem, Janet Fox, Ardath Mayhar, Darrell Schweitzer, Manly Wade Wellman, Franklin Seawright, William Scott Home, Walter C. DeBill, Adrian Cole, Gerald Page, Michael Avallone, Charles Saunders, Michael Bishop, Brian McNaughton, Tim Powers, James Wade, Ramsey Campbell, George Wetzel, and many more! As for the artwork... Dennis Tiani, J. K. Potter, Allen Koszowski, Steven Fabian, and many others. The first ten issues are from the Paul Allen collection (the Paul Allen who published Fantasy Newsletter, not that Paul Allen) and are bound in a black leatherette volume. The remaining issues are all "as new" and it wouldn't be at all difficult to get a matching volume done. An exceptional archive of a very important magazine. All in all you get 23 issues (the last issue present is a double issue, comprised of 23 & 24) Single issues run anywhere from $10-$40 or more. We have established a median price of just a smidgen over $12.00 per issue or $279.99 for the set. $10.01 S & H in US. Overseas customers please e-mail for exact postage. The actual cost is likely more, but we'll pay the difference... This will be a fairly heavy box. Overseas customers prepare for sticker shock on teh cost of shipping, it is what it is..
