Description
This auction is for twelve (12) Watchmen issues 1-12, published in 1986. These comics feature the characters that will be seen in the March 2009 movie! See & Read the introductions of Dr. Manhattan, Nite Owl, Ozymandius, the Comedian, Rorschach and Silk Spectre. This classic comic maxi-series was written by Alan Moore (Swamp Thing, Halo Jones, V For Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Tom Strong, Miracleman) and drawn by Dave Gibbons. I'm sure you can do without the hyperbole and exaggerated hysteria concerning Watchmen that my fellow sellers are writing in their descriptions. Suffice it to say that this series is every bit as good as you've heard. I am not an expert grader, so I won't waste your time with phony claims of the "near mintness" of the lot. Warning: I have opened these issues! I may have leafed through them...and I may have even...read them (definitely!)! I did not buy them in 1986, run right home, dump them in an acid-free bag and store them (untouched) for the last 22 years! Sorry about that...And I suspect that the same is true of other eBay sellers despite what is being said. Continuing the theme of dispensing with hyperbole, I'll simply say that the issues themselves are in very good shape - there are no blemishes that I can see. They were read by someone who knows how to take care of comic books and is very careful with them. I've seen recent auctions (from September 1st & 2nd) that closed at more than $160 US, and you can do the same searches I can to see that the asking price here is within reason. The scan you see is one of the comics you'll get! It's a great story and it's well worth reading, so do yourself a favor and pick these issues up at a relatively low (or at least competitive) price! You'll be glad you did. I welcome international bidders! Shipping will be $13 US for all international bidders except for Canada. Bidders from Canada please add $3 on to the quoted shipping rate for US buyers. Regardless of your location, if you win multiple comic book auctions, please add 50 cents per auction win. So if you win three auctions, please make sure to add $1 ($1.50 if you win four auctions, $2 if you win five, etc.) to the stated shipping cost if you will be paying without waiting for an invoice. I encourage buyers to bid and pay without waiting for an invoice, and I hope this makes it easier to determine ahead of time what my combined auction win policy is. I offer insurance and tracking. Each service is $1.50 separately and $3 for both. Please make sure to mention that you are requesting one or the other or both when you make your payment. This is highly recommended given the high cost of these issues. I will pack the issues in a bag, and will secure them within thick cardboard (or a box). They will be well protected. In other words, I'll ship them to you as I would want something shipped to me. PayPal payments are preferred across the board, but I do take money orders as well. I am a reasonable guy, so if you have any issues after the auction has closed and the comics have been received, please contact me and I will work with you (within reason) to make things right. I'm not out to cheat or mislead anyone - I'm just trying to make a little money and enable some folks to get some really great comics for a decent price. Please check my other auctions, as I do combine shipping (refer to the above-mentioned guidelines) - no matter where the package is going. I'll answer any questions you may have as quickly as I can - so please email me. Good luck bidding! Even if you're not buying at this time, please check out my blog: http://d3comicblog.blogspot.com/
