Description
WHERE DO YOU FIND BOOKS TO SELL ON THE INTERNET? by Jeannee Gannuch During the 5 years that I’ve been an online bookseller, many times I’ve heard other sellers ask the question, “Where do you get your books to sell?” Of course, this question is met with silence at best. It makes very good sense that active sellers do not want to share their sources. The commonly known book outlets have become overcrowded. Any current book seller would be out of his mind to ever divulge a good source to another seller. We’ve all worked hard and spent many hours pondering, planning and developing our sources. The survival of our businesses depends on the integrity of our sources. For multiple reasons, I have recently retired from a very successful book-selling career. I am now free to answer the question, “Where do you find books to sell?” My interest has shifted from protecting my sources to finalizing the sale of what I’ve built. My inventory is gone. My Amazon pro-merchant account is closed. All I have left is my knowledge. That is what I have included in this book. It is not only the answer to “Where can I acquire books?” but to the question, “Where can I acquire books and still feel good about myself tomorrow?” There are other books available on selling books. Some of them have great information and address topics on which I could give no better advice. To the best of my knowledge however, none of them have gone beyond suggesting the common and crowded sources for obtaining inventory. Who am I? I am page_1_books on Amazon where I have 5,389 feedback. Although I am no longer selling, feel free to look up my account and check its duration and feedback. I have also sold here on Ebay, on A-1 Books and on Alibris. During the 4 years that I was ACTIVELY selling, I sold over 80,000 books on the internet. I sold 1000s more locally as overstock and donated still 1000s more to various schools and charities. I've never sold a "penny book." I was able to gradually increase my average listing price, which was about $18. I've written a "book." It includes 8 source ideas and details regarding how to make those sources work. I've given the idea of selling this book a 3 day test run on a forum attended by book sellers. Some who are new sellers or more experienced sellers who wish to expand their businesses have responded with great interest. Others who are satisfied with their current status have become quite angry. They fear that this information will increase their competition and harm their business as it exists. By those, I've been told to "keep quiet," and "keep your thoughts to yourself." I say nonsense! This field can and will continue to grow. Those who are already on board simply can not pull up the ladder. These sources do not include garage sales, library sales, dumpster diving, purchasing lots from ebay or any other internet book selling site, asking friends/ family, or searching Craigs List. The ideas do require that you are able to get out of your home, so if you're homebound this is not likely information that you'll be able to use. Of the 8 ideas detailed, 6 of them work in any region of the country. One is accessible to all, but would be more convenient for those located in the Southeast. One is a local source that would be viable for those in AL, MS, GA, and TN. I want to be clear about what you will receive. This is not a professionally bound and printed book. It will look more like a high school term paper when it arrives in a plastic folder bound only by the plastic strip along the side of the folder. The purpose of the information within is to help you expand your business. Its purpose is not to decorate your bookcase or to entertain you with my brilliant writing skills! The cost of shipping is $5 for USPS priority mail. Due to the content of the booklet, I will not accept returns or issue any refunds. The only exception to this would be for non-delivery. If the book arrives damaged I will send a replacement copy. If you have any questions or comments, I'd love to hear from you! You might also be interested in checking out the second book that I've written, "Selling Beyond the Covers, The Internet Resellers Guide to Expanding Business in a Competitive Market." I'm currently selling both books on Ebay as an individual listings and also in a combined listing at a discounted price if both are purchased. I am accepting payment by Paypal, check or money order. For payments made by money order, books will ship within two days after receipt. For payments made by check, the book will ship within two days of payment clearing. In either case, the book will arrive via USPS Priority mail.
